“Life here just isn’t fair”
This is what journalist Anderson Cooper said while visiting refugee camps in Kenya last week as he watched children being buried in mass graves.
I’ve decided that I’m not going to complain about the lack of news coverage and slow response of international organizations (especially the United Nations) for the humanitarian crisis.
If you haven’t heard about what’s going on in the Horn of Africa, read about it here.
If you want to help, you can do so here.
I recently read a research statement claiming that malnourished children’s brains are 40% smaller than that of a well nourished child. The alarming thing is that once it reaches this point, the brain will never catch up in size regardless of the intervention. This means that we are potentially witnessing this region lose an entire generation.
Please keep them in your thoughts.
